A Modern View of an Ancient Culture

Siem Reap has always been known for its rich history, stunning temples, and vibrant culture. Despite being a bustling city, it manages to preserve centuries of history not just in every temple and museum but with the way the locals welcome visitors and the stories they tell.

Of course, interacting from the ground isn’t enough to witness the beauty that Siem Reap offers. Sometimes, it takes stepping away from it all to truly appreciate the mix of the old and the new that shows this city’s evolution. The Angkor Eye offers that, giving you a unique Siem Reap experience 85 meters above ground.

A Breathtaking Siem Reap Experience

Construction for the Angkor Eye was expected to end by the end of 2019, but a few technical issues caused a few delays. But the challenges were quickly resolved, and by March 2020, the attraction was opened to the public.

A local investor and the Japanese giant CQ Amenic Co are behind this groundbreaking project. This is the 14th Ferris wheel built by the Japanese company. The Siem Reap Department of Tourism believes that this is just the thing that could boost local tourism while also providing jobs to hundreds of locals.

Each cabin can hold up to 4 people. With 48 cabins all in all, up to 192 passengers can enjoy 18 minutes of 360-degree views not just of the city but of the lush natural beauty surrounding it.

For the best experience, enjoying the ride around sunset is recommended. It is priced at $12 for adults and $6 for kids.
