Discover Siem Reap in 72 Hours – Part 2

You’re halfway through your stay in Cambodia and already, you’ve had quite an amazing experience on days 1 and 2! You’ve enjoyed a jaw-dropping sunrise at Angkor Wat, explored some of Angkor’s other famous temples, and seen the circus show of a lifetime.

But what makes Siem Reap a one-of-a-kind destination is that you’ll never run out of things to do. In fact, what you’ve seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

Allow Aviary Hotel to continue this journey with you.

Day 3

After two days of intense adventures, you deserve to sleep in and indulge in a delicious breakfast at Plumage Restaurant. It’s just the thing that could recharge and prepare you to explore more of Siem Reap.

After breakfast, it’s time to admire some of Cambodia’s natural wildlife. Join the Sam Veasna Birdwatching Tour and witness some of the most beautiful birds you’ll ever see thriving in their natural habitat. Some of these birds inspired The Aviary Hotel’s overall ambiance, a testament to Cambodia’s rich natural beauty.

Next on the list is, embark on a cruise and enjoy a stunning sunset trip on the great Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Circled by at least five provinces of Cambodia, the lake provides income to more than three million Cambodians through fishing and farming.

Once you get back to shore, it’s time to explore Pub Street, which is within walking distance of the hotel. Wander around the markets and have a drink or two before heading back to The Aviary Hotel.

Day 4

You’re now on your final day, which means it’s the last time for you to enjoy another delightful breakfast here at The Aviary. Once your tummies are full and your bodies energized, it’s time to embark on your last day of adventure.

Banteay Srei (The Pink Temple), the citadel of women, is a great starting point. The temple is remotely located and a bit smaller than most temples in Angkor, making it unique from the other temples you’ve visited so far. That’s because the temple is believed to have been built by a priest and not by kings. In ancient times, it was considered disrespectful to build a monument larger and grander than a royal-sponsored temple. Though small, the carvings in this pinkish sandstone temple make it stand out from the others.

Hoping to see something else other than temples on your last day? Skip Banteay Srei and visit Wake Park Cambodia, instead. From fun water obstacles to wakeboarding, it’s a thrilling way to kick off your last day.

If the colorful elephants in the Aviary’s hallways caught your fancy, then a visit to Theam’s House Atelier and Gallery should not be missed. This is where the elephants’ designer, Lim Muy Theam, displays the rest of his creations.

Depending on your departure time, you can enjoy a well-deserved break at the hotel’s pool while enjoying a refreshing beverage and some light bites. If your flight doesn’t take off until the evening, you could catch happy hour at the pool, which starts at 5 PM.
